James McArdle Joins the Cougars for 2026

The Northcote Park Football Netball Club is excited to welcome James McArdle to Bill Lawry Oval for the 2026 season.

James is a small defender/midfielder with elite fitness and pace, known for his ability to break lines, use his evasiveness in traffic, and hit the scoreboard.

He completed a pre-season with the Oakleigh Chargers U18s prior to COVID, before playing senior First XVIII football at Marcellin in Year 12. James has since spent the past four seasons in senior football at Old Boys.

His 2025 season was highlighted by winning the VAFA Goal of the Year, and he is currently training with Richmond’s VFL program.

We look forward to seeing what James brings to our dynamic in the green and gold.
